The staff here is amazing and I stopped in to have my truck inspected after I saw oil on the side where was a CV joint and then inspected it and showed it was not an issue. I ran something over and did a thorough inspection and great work. I 100% recommend this place for any service!

Although we did not purchase a new truck from this dealer, we have used them for service four times during the summer of 2026. We live in a very remote location where there are few GMC dealerships. Several of the dealerships that were closer to us had horrible service ratings. However, VonHolzen had good service ratings, so we decided to do get our expensive GMC truck serviced by them even though going to this dealer is approximately a 140 mile round trip commute. The first visit was to diagnose a service parking brake light that came on. This was the best visit as they found the “problem” that would fix our issue. They claimed that we were missing a parking brake pad and the remaining brake pad was in poor shape. I found this odd as the parking brake perfectly held our fully loaded truck camper and truck on a steep incline with no issues. When I returned for visit 2, they “repaired” the allegedly defective brake pads on both sides. This is a big deal on a 2021 GMC 3500 Diesel Dually Duramax as the GM engineers decided to make the repair super complex (i.e. Expensive ). When I returned home (70 mile drive each-way), I saw an oily smoke coming out from one pair of the rear wheels. Upon further inspection with a flashlight, I saw a dark viscous fluid flowing down the outside surface of the inner tire. I was concerned that the vehicle had suffered serious damage, so I consulted with a diesel mechanic that lives close to me. He told me that the vehicle could not be driven as it was unsafe and the wheel(s) very easily could have fallen off. So I had to have it towed back up to this dealership. This was alarming not only because of the potential serious damage to the drive train but the possibility of a crash during my drive home. The towing bill was also concerning as the tow fee for this size truck was $560. The truck was towed back to the dealership and after examination, the service manager claimed that the damage was not their fault. He said “you just had bad luck” and quoted a repair bill of $650. I again consulted my local diesel repair mechanic (who is licensed to perform safety examinations on diesel trucks for a large international company) and he told me that in his opinion, the mechanic at the dealership did not perform the required service correctly. My wife and I consulted a different GM dealership and got a similar answer. Armed with factual information, we returned to the dealership and presented our case for them to cover the repair costs and towing. After meeting, with the owner of the dealership and the service manager, the dealership relented and decided to cover the cost of the repairs and towing. Upon concluding this visit we drove the truck home. About one week later, the service parking brake light came on again. So I had to make another 140 mile round trip trek to get the issue resolved. The service manager was visibly not happy to see me again which made me feel uncomfortable. When the service was completed he met with me in is office so no one else could hear the conversation, charged us $186, told me they reset the warning light, and informed us that their technicians do not like us and that we should never return for service. On the drive home, the warning light was at least finally out. About one week later, the service parking brake light came on again! We will never return to VonHolzen again!

Fast and courteous service. Fair price. Excellent facilities and waiting area.

Realistically, I do not think there is much more the Dealership can do to improve....but Von Holzen and Chevrolet should keep trying. Keep developing great EVs like the Bolt and my Silverado EV.

They are a professional family type of organization. Top level service friendly people throughout the organization to work with. Always treat people with respect and staff is highly knowledgeable. Highly recommend doing business with this team.

This was the best car buying experience I've ever had. Don was great start to finish. Heather walked me thru the paperwork in record time and Kyle was very knowledgeable and able to run me through the electronics. Vehicle was spotless when I arrived. I even threw them a curveball by deciding to finance it at the last minute and they completed the mountain of paperwork Wisconsin requires before I arrived. Everyone was 10/10, and I'm usually very impatient!

My experience with the general manager and the service was terrible. They charged us a $156. to gave us a quote on a repair. I would give them no stars if that were an option.

This place absolutely sucks. No way a truck that was bought a year ago has the problems it does and they can’t figure it out. Even in the truck after 200 dollars for labor and they still can’t figure out what is going on with it. Never again. 2nd vehicle I have brought here they could not fix. Terrible place

Sales manager (Don) is extremely rude, one of the sales people, Heather made me feel like I was wasting her time even though I came in with a Cashier’s check for the full price plus taxes etc… for the vehicle I wanted. Acted like she had something better to be doing. Ended up walking away and buying a similar vehicle from Northland Chevy in Superior. Would not recommend this dealership, not professional at all.

When I got to the dealership I discovered I was lied to by the representative and when talking to a different representative she tried to cover for the first one even though I have the emails to prove the lie. This dealership is very unhelpful and untrustworthy. I gave them my expectations and what I was looking for and they don't know how to abide by that. For better service go elsewhere

Oh my goodness! I was so leery of this company at first! Who in the world would drive all the way to Superior from Ashland to show me a vehicle I was interested in??? On vacation nearby...I have a 2024 silverado with check engine light I borrowed a code reader from O'reillys ....to determine if I could self rescue on the weekend. I found a code that did not have an easy diagnosis or solution prescribed. I waited for Monday morning Drove to this dealership I was refused even an appt to simply check out the code and give advice on whether I could drive home to Oregon....for 3 weeks. I didn't ask for a repair I was simply looking to have some insite. I'll pay a mechanic other than a chevy dealer to assist me...now. And remember the lack of customer service for life.

When the next oil change was done at a different dealership, they immediately called to tell us the oil bolt had been cross-threaded and a spring was added as a makeshift. When we went back to Van Holzen, they denied doing the work and refused to replace the oil pan. They said that the truck came in to them damaged. They were nasty and hung up on both my husband and I. Was Called on Wednesday the 21st my truck was done, drove the 40 miles to get it. Drove 2 miles to a gas station wouldn’t start, so brought it back and then the next day they called and said the truck is done. So again drove the 40 miles to get my truck this time it ran properly which is great but the absolute disgrace of having to pay not once but twice for them to fix the truck telling me the second one was a separate incident, what they replaced the second time was a brand new oem gm part with proof was only in there for a month and a half. It’s absolutely ridiculous someone had to pay a deductible twice when my truck didn’t technically get to leave the first time. So to sum up my review I would not recommend them.

Took my wife's vehicle in for repairs. Day after getting it back noticed a cut on the front cv axle boot with all the grease gone and broken joint in the axle. They simply repacked a new boot with grease and said that's all it needed and charged us for it. Did not take responsibility for cutting the boot. Took my wife's vehicle in for repairs. Day after getting it back noticed a cut on the front cv axle boot with all the grease gone and broken joint in the axle. They simply repacked a new boot with grease and said that's all it needed and charged us for it. Did not take responsibility for cutting the boot. It has since broke again along with other suspension parts and charged another $100 to look at it to tell us the axle is broke and needs to be replaced. We now have a vehicle in need of $1500 in repairs caused by a cut in a boot that they would not take responsibility for.

Moving from Arizona, we left all our freinds behind. I am so thankful that there are businesses up in Northern Wisconsin that makes you feel like your not alone. Moving from Arizona, we left all our freinds behind. I am so thankful that there are businesses up in Northern Wisconsin that makes you feel like your not alone. Whether it is the amazing Body shop who will advocate for you when your insurance trys to low ball you with cheap parts or the amazing service department that goes above and beyond the call of duty, I am honored to call myself a customer of Von Holzons dealship. I have not yet had the pleasure of working with the sales department yet, but I know that when my rust bucket one day breaks down, they will be the first on my list to call.

I have had one experience with the parts department at this dealership, trying to help my retired father, and would leave 0 stars if I could. He lost the keys to his truck. I run a small dealership and repair facility several hours away from him so naturally he called me asking me what to do. I called the local GM dealership I deal with, gave them the VIN, and they told me they had access to the key code and could cut a key from the VIN. I found that Von Holzen was the closest dealer to him and told him to call and that they should have no problem making a key for him. He called me back and said they they only have access to the key codes for 10 years, which isn't true, and gave him the number to a locksmith. The locksmith quoted my dad over 300 dollars to come to his house and make a key, mostly due to mileage. He has a 2002 truck with a basic key that does not have a chip and does not have to be programmed, it's less than 20 for the key. The dealership i work with offered to give me the code or email it directly to Von Holzen, so I called and they still said that they couldn't make the key. I then had to have my dealership make the key and I mailed it to him. Me and my dad both got the impression that there wasn't enough money in it for them. It really bothers me that they would rather have a retired person on a fixed income spend 300 plus dollars on a key instead of taking care of him for 20 dollars. I wonder how many other people have been treated this way

defenitely not a place i would recommend. very slow service, don't mind telling customer what they need to hear, only to be strung along.

Bought a used truck at $30k. There was no gas in my vehicle. Bought it with 27k on the truck now has 71k on it and I need a new transmission now after I brought the problem to their attention they told me nothing was wrong with the truck. Very poor customer service if I do stick with gm I will do my shopping elsewhere
